The Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), founded in 1994, is the institution in charge of leading on and carrying out work on science, nuclear energy, technology and environment.
Cuba, despite its condition of being a developing country, dedicates 1.7% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) annually to scientific – technical activities - the highest index in Latin America.
